The Longevity Reading Room

What the world is trying, and what the evidence actually says.

Before you read

To the reader,

This is a reading room, not a clinic. It is a record of what is happening in longevity around the world: what is being offered, where, by whom, at what price, and what the evidence behind it actually says. Nothing here is a suggestion to obtain, buy or try anything. We write about things we would not recommend, and we say plainly when the evidence is thin or absent. Quite often the most useful thing to report is that something does not work as well as it is sold.

Rules differ enormously by country. A substance or a test that is ordinary in one place is restricted, unauthorised or prohibited in another, and the same product can be a consumer good on one side of a border and a prescription medicine on the other. Before acting on anything you read here, check what applies where you live, and talk to your own doctor. Your doctor knows your history. We do not.

Take your time with it. Almost nothing here is urgent.

Yours,

The Longevity Reading Room
